Bizer Louisiana is the Louisiana front door to Bizer — a business agent named Miles that does the actual work of starting and running a company, for anyone in any of the state’s 64 parishes.

This is the first post here, so it should say plainly what this site is, what it is not yet, and how it connects to the company behind it.

The problem this is aimed at

Louisiana is not short of small-business help. There are Small Business Development Centers, regional economic-development groups, chambers, and a genuinely useful state resource network. Much of it is free and staffed by people who know their parish cold. If you can get an appointment with one of them, take it.

But notice what nearly all of that help has in common: it ends with a referral. You describe your situation, and the outcome is a list of organizations to call, a workshop to attend, or a meeting in nine days. That is real help. It is also help that only exists between nine and five, and only if you can get on the calendar.

Meanwhile the actual questions arrive at inconvenient hours. Do I need an LLC or can I stay a sole proprietor. Which parish collects my sales tax and at what rate. Is there a grant for this. What do I even file first. Those questions do not wait for Tuesday.

What Bizer is

Bizer is a business platform built around an agent called Miles. You connect the tools your business already uses — email, calendar, accounting, your website — and Miles can then work inside them on your behalf. Not a chatbot that produces advice you then go execute. Something closer to a competent employee who has read everything about your business and will draft the thing, file the thing, and follow up on the thing.

The company sells that as fractional labour rather than software seats. There is a free tier, and paid plans at $29 and $157 a month. Which brings up the single most useful thing to know:

What Miles can actually do today

Every young company is tempted to describe the roadmap as though it already shipped. Here is the shipped list, and only the shipped list:

• Find grants you match. Miles keeps a live cache of federal assistance programs, ranks them against your industry, and shows you where to apply — then drafts the application narrative from what he knows about your business, for you to edit and submit.
• Tell you which lenders you are likely to match, and why. Loan readiness is scored from real numbers — revenue, debt service, history, documentation. It is an estimate to aim you at the right door, never a credit decision, and never a promise of approval.
• Handle SAM.gov registration. The federal registration most small businesses stumble on, and the prerequisite for any government contracting.
• Get quotes and invoices out the same day. Estimates, invoices, recurring billing, reminders, PDFs — drafted by Miles, sent when you approve them.
• Score your business for free, without signing up. Miles researches your public footprint and tells you what it shows a customer, a lender, or Google.
• Draft your marketing content. Posts, ideas, page copy — drafted for your review.

You will notice how often the word approve appears. That is deliberate. Miles drafts and proposes; you press the button. For anything that leaves your business and reaches a customer, that is a feature, not a limitation.

What this site is — and is not yet

Being straight about this matters more than looking finished.

Today, Bizer Louisiana is one page and this post. The plan is a set of genuinely deep, genuinely Louisiana-specific guides: registering an LLC with the Secretary of State, what a Louisiana business licence actually involves, the parish-by-parish sales tax mess, and where the money is. Then regional and parish pages where the details truly differ.

Every one of those pages will hold itself to the same rule: it has to end in you being able to do the thing. The steps in order, what each costs, which portal it happens on, what commonly goes wrong — and Miles standing by for the parts he can take off your hands. A page that ends by telling you to call someone else has not done its job.

Fees and deadlines will carry the date they were checked, and get re-checked. A stale filing fee on a site like this is worse than no page at all.

How the pieces fit together

Bizer is the company and the app. Bizer Louisiana is the part that knows this state — the parishes, the portals, the programs, the specific way things work here. The guides are free and public, and they exist to answer your question properly. Where the answer involves work you would rather not do yourself, Miles is right there, and the conversation about it costs nothing.
